Best dive bar in Columbia (the Whig is a close second). Craft beer selection are prices are easily the best in the city. Pint night is Tuesday and it gets even better. Patrons are very friendly if you're not a dick. Don't expect a quiet polite crowd but you can expect to have some fun and meet some good people.

Best ever local dive bar with great drink specials and pool tables-a great jukebox and one of those really fancy golf video games... all the bartender is there are great and they always remember what you drank and the owner is super nice and always makes you feel right at home. I imagine it is like cheers. We call this place "the local" when we are talking about it LOL

This place was introduced to me years ago as " the Cheers of West Columbia" and is a great little hole in the wall. Like mentioned before this place has over 20 taps and is a members only establishment but well worth the measly $3.00 member fee. The staff is extremely nice and more than helpful. Yes, this is a 21 and up establishment with no exceptions. Its not to be mean but this is a business and for them to be able to stay open and continue to thrive, State Street Pub does follow these law. Now, SSP may not be the most pleasing to the eye at first, but it will win you over with its prices, friendly staff and no drama atmosphere. Did I mention the building is over a 100 years old and used to be a brothel? Oh, I didn't? Well it is and the regulars can enlighten you on some of West Columbia's extremely interesting facts. So come by and have a beer with us Happy Hour folks and bring your trivia knowledge with you. We will save you a seat.

Please, ignore the children complaining they aren't allowed to sit at the big table yet. This review is from a regular. Best dive bar in Columbia. Over 20 taps of craft brews changed on the regular. They also sell growlers at a very reasonable price. Prices are very reasonable, and there are specials all the time. This is a private bar, so if you aren't a member or a guest of one, then you must become a member. It isn't expensive. They also have NTN trivia, and you'll always find at least a few people playing before 10pm. There are also quarter tables, darts and they've got a great custom-made shuffleboard. The late night crowd tends to be service industry people, and so while they get a bit rowdy there is rarely any trouble. If you like a loud, boisterous crowd, you'll like it late. And when I mean late, they stay open until. Private bar, you know. Last note, when the Walking Dead is on, it plays in the bar, starting at 8pm (previous week's show).

I celebrated my 50th birthday at the Decadence show here. The beer was ice cold, the bartender was very friendly and fast, prices were very reasonable even the liquor prices. I will definitely be back for many more wonderful experiences at my local bar.

Always a good time with fun people. It's a members and their guests bar, so you don't have to deal with a ton of crazies. Great drink specials and pool tables if you like shooting pool.

Fantastic bartender, cheap good beers, awesome specials. Met a lot of really cool patrons. People were friendly and inviting. Very relaxed, local place for a drink. Will be my go-to when I'm in Lexington from here on out!

My boyfriend and I are in town for some military training and just searched for places to go have a drink decently close to our hotel. We did not realize they were members only, but we explained we were from out of town and they were so welcoming! The bartender and more then one person offered to sponsor us for the night. The bartender was wonderful! Great experience all around.
